My Story

I have loved dogs since I can remember but my parents wouldn’t let us have any growing up. I was so sad we couldn’t have a dog I hyperfixated on everything dog related. I have been learning about dogs and dog training since I was 5 years old, and it has become one of my favorite things to do. I decided to start this blog because it is for a class, but I also think there is a lot of misinformation about dog training, dog behavior, emotional support dogs, service dogs, and most things dog related. My purpose with this blog is to do the best I can to give accurate information on these things based off of heavy research, and specific laws like the ADA and FHA. As someone who is on the autism spectrum and now has an emotional support husky, I think it is important people know what their rights are when it comes to their animals. Emotional Support Animals have different rights than service dogs, but many service dogs have been injured or traumatized because people bring their reactive or untrained emotional support animals and pets to public places. I hope to spread awareness about the differences of pets vs emotional support animals vs service dogs, and help people understand the importance of the responsibility that comes with owning a dog.
